Of course, this means you should be taking full advantage of advertising options on sites like Facebook and Twitter, but if your small business happens to have an app, then you can also increase your own bottom line with ad sales on your own app. It’s a quick way to increase revenue or to use target ads to help your own sales.

You can make a lot of extra money through in-app advertising sales. Businesses of all kinds are quickly realizing the advantages of mobile apps, and eMarketer has even predicted that $28.72 billion will go towards mobile costs alone. To make some additional revenue, simply reach out to other businesses that are similar to your own, and offer ad space in your app for a reasonable rate. Sure, your reach may be smaller than the giant app options, but your reach will be highly targeted and much more specific, which makes your leads far more desirable.


Use automation

If you aren’t quite ready to launch into the advertisement selling game, you can take advantage of one of the many mobile ad systems that integrate with nearly any app. AdMob, iAds and Doubleclick all offer integrated advertising with your app, and you get a portion of the ad revenue generated by click-throughs. You simply set up the integration with your app, let AdMob or iAds do the work for you and collect your check once the clicks start to come in. The downside here, of course, is that you aren’t keeping all the revenue, so your take will be far smaller. However, if you’re just looking for a quick and simple solution to integrate ad selling, any of those options would be a great place to start.


Use multiple ads for multiple apps

If you’ve got more than one app, make sure to create banner ads to promote your different apps within each platform. A relevant ad on one mobile app can easily create a lot of clicks and traffic to another app, thus increasing your usage for both applications. Simply create the banner and link it directly to the app store, so your new banner ad will keep you reaping all the benefits instead of paying someone else to spread the word. You can also try offering in-app deals and bonuses that can help to increase your sales and your bottom line with just a few extra clicks. If you aren’t using your app to the best of its ability, then you may be missing out on some major revenue.
